- Directions: Take one of multiple buses (including the BRT 1) to the 长江路 bus stop (Chiangjiang lu). You can also see the Super 8 sign from the train station, just a couple hundred meters walking distance to the east.
Location
The Super 8 Hotel chain is located all throughout Urumqi, but this particular one is conveniently situated next to the Urumqi train station. It is one of only a couple hotels that is able to accept foreign visitors.
As you exit the train station you should be able to see the Super 8 logo on a building just across the elevated highway. It’s only a couple hundred meters walking on foot.
Nearby there are plenty of banks, places to shop and restaurants that will take care of you during your stay. Also worth noting is that you are near quite a few bus lines that could take you almost anywhere in the city.
Atmosphere
The Super 8 does a good job of providing comfortable rooms in a simple atmosphere. When you walk into the lobby you won’t notice too much but once you get your room you just jump up the elevators and walk in.
They have internet, great bathroom facilities and basic cable TV channels. The hotel itself doesn’t have many amenities (such as a fitness center or restaurant) but there is so much within 20 meters of the hotel that it pretty much doesn’t matter.

The Super 8 offers quite a few different room options including a single room, standard room, luxury standard room and a suite room. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms as well as rooms with and without windows.

About Urumqi
Urumqi, capital of China’s largest and most western province of Xinjiang, is located in a pass along the TianShan mountains. Ethnically the city is divided almost in half, with most Uyghur residing in the south while Han continue to build up the north. The Sheraton Urumqi is situated in the middle, mostly in the Han part of the city but quite close anything worth seeing in the city.
From Urumqi you’ll have access to the Urumqi International Airport, a train station that can bring you most anywhere in the province, and plenty of tourist agencies to help you in between.
